The Sound of the Horn

It electrifies jazz fans, makes them think of the giants of days gone by, reminds them of the unforgettable ways they handled those jazz classics and makes them wish they’d be back.

But time marches on, new generations fall in love with the trumpet and get inspired by these giants of the past. People like Mauro Brunini, who discovered the trumpet when he was ten. Or maybe the trumpet discovered him. Whichever.

Mauro has won several awards and is a much sought after player by U.S bands touring Europe. But he also has his own band, a traditional jazz group with horn, drums, piano, and bass. Their repertoire includes jazz classics, Great American Songbook numbers, and even one or the other Stevie Wonder tune. One of his career highlights is his project „Trumpet With Strings“, a tribute to the music of Chet Baker.
